18th Annual Lucky 13 Recap - Mar 15th, 2026
Recap of: The 18th Annual Lucky 13
The Lucky 13 has been known for being played in “less than desirable weather”. This year was definitely outside of that norm as temperatures reached over 70 degrees! There was still wind, which we have come to expect for every tournament held in Republic, but we couldn’t have asked for much better weather.
A big thanks once again to Doug Bowen for letting his Elephant & Castle Fine Arms store be the Title Sponsor.
Much Appreciation for our Monkey Magic Tour sponsors as well:
Elephant & Castle Fine Arms, Patriots Gold & Silver, Dynamic Discs, Innova Champion Discs, Fossa Disc Golf, Prodigy Discs, Creator Designs, MVP/Axiom Discs, Millennium Golf Discs, Discmania, Educational Disc Golf Experience, Slim Chickens, 8Up, Greazy Dyes, Discs Unlimited, Swing Right Golf, Intuitive Body Work & Massage, Sticky Dyes, and AC3D Trophies
I would like to give a shout out to Garrett, Republic Parks Director, for allowing this event to continue, and for having the course in great shape for the event.
Last but never least, Team Monkey for helping set up the course, pack it back up at the end, and doing all the things that make a tournament run smooth. You are all the Best!
This was our first event of the year that supports EDGE (Educational Disc Golf Experience). The raffle money and 1/2 the Ace Pot, that totaled $587 will all be donated to EDGE. I want to thank all of you who have been a part of this for 18 years. In this time frame, because of the generosity of players supporting DGM events, we have raised over $45,000!! I am thankful to have been a part of “Growing the Sport” before the term was coined! Thank you all!
There was a maxed out field with 90 players, and unfortunately several on the wait list who did not get in. Don’t forget to register for the Disc’n for Cheetahs event that is coming up April 4th. This event generally fills up as well. The link to register is at the bottom of this post.
There were 12 Divisions represented.

Tournament Highlights:
MPO:
Jackson Bekemeier had the hot round -12 to make the late charge, but Andrew’s pair of -11’s was enough for the “W”!
FA1:
Abriel Smith shined as she had the top score out of the 5 women in the field shooting an impressive +1 for the day. Great Job!
There was an Ace hit on hole 18 in the first round by Douglas Brashear. Unfortunately he was not I the Ace Pot so 1/2 ($165) went to EDGE and 1/2 ($165) will be rolled over to the Disc’n for Cheetahs tournament.
Congratulations to the big raffle winner, Jef “One F” Swinney. Welcome back and enjoy that basket!
Congratulations to all the CTP winners!
Hank Harlan (Trilogy)
Josh Williams (Prodigy).
Keenan Gore (MVP)
Justin Mount (Unbranded Innova Sponsored)
